史卡柏羅市集(Scarbourough Fair/Canticle)是Simon和Garfunkel於1966年出版的第三張專輯「Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme 」中非常的重要作品，以往翻譯成「史城博覽會」，簡稱以「史卡柏羅市集」，常省略了短歌(Canticle)的部份。也因此，那些未深究短歌詞意的聽者，常誤認這首歌只是一首動人的情歌。

這首歌是由Paul Simon所編寫，1965年他在倫敦向Martin Carthy習得了「史卡柏羅市集」這首英國傳統民謠，他擷取了曲調及其中四段歌詞，並嵌入Paul Simon原創於1963年的The Side Of a Hill一曲，但歌詞已改寫成反戰內容，Paul Simon將這首由兩首歌改編而成的歌曲命名為Scarbourough Fair/Canticle。

雙關語：雖然確有史卡柏羅(Scarborough)這個城鎮，但仍可以拆字方式來了解其絃外之音。Scarborough可拆為Scar(傷痕)與borough(自治區)二字，其意為傷心小鎮，當初史卡柏羅的命名是否有此典故，頗堪玩味。

歌詞涵意是關於歌者指定往日愛人三件不可能的任務：「縫製不能有縫口和織線的衣服；在海水跟海岸間找到一畝地；用一把皮革做成的鐮刀收割並用石南草捆紮莊稼。」為何歌者要旅人代轉三件不可能的任務給分手的戀人呢？這有兩種解釋，一是深情無比，如果她做不到，說不定就會回到我的身邊，再度成為我的愛人。二是翻臉不認人，愛人必需完成任務，才能回到歌者的身邊，亦即以苛刻的條件來維護男性最後的尊嚴。兩者皆藉由歌者的投射想像，描繪出戀情生變後的心理調適，不論是執著或翻臉，終究是心傷。整首歌傳達了「我的愛人不會再回到我身邊了」的失落，頗符合前述傷心小鎮市集的雙關意味。
